The Antigone pendant is handcrafted in 925/1000 black silver. A fragment of the Gibeon meteorite is embedded in the silver. This creation is entirely hand carved making it a unique piece. This necklace comes with a solid diamond chain.

It is very important to avoid any contact of this meteorite (composed mainly of iron) with water or moisture.

Total length of the chain: 80cm

Length of the pendant: 3,8cm.

Traditionally handcrafted in our workshop in Paris, France. We select our stones from the most reputable French lapidaries, guaranteeing you the highest quality and total traceability. This necklace is ready to ship immediately upon receipt of your order.

The term "Black Silver" refers to solid silver with a legal grade of 925/1000 that has been oxidised to a dark grey. Black silver will develop a patina, the treatment will fade in places to reveal the natural shine of untreated silver.

The Gibeon meteorite, or simply Gibeon, is an iron meteorite that fell to Earth in Namibia. The meteorite disintegrated into many fragments before impact. Its total known mass before impact reaches 26 tons, which makes it one of the largest known meteorites.  The fragments of the meteorite are known for several centuries by the NamaquasThis is the name of a group of pastoralists from southern Africa who use it to make arrows and other tools.

Antigone, heroine of the play play by Jean Anouilh, prefers to disobey the laws of men when they are unjust, than to disobey the laws of the gods. She is then arrested, judged and locked up alive. But rather than let herself die or even be executed, Antigone commits suicide. On hearing the news, Hemon, her fiancé, throws himself into the hole where his fiancée lies.
